I'm Zenon Issel, a serial entrepreneur originally from near Toronto, Canada, now living in the vibrant community of Kona, Hawaii. My journey started with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, which took me to San Diego, California. There, I dedicated over 25 years to Solar Turbines, leading a team accountable for billions in yearly revenue and driving innovation and operational excellence.

While climbing the corporate ladder, I was also building businesses with my wife, Cynthia. We have a passion for entrepreneurship, and it became clear to me that I wanted to focus my efforts on this path. I had achieved everything I wanted in the corporate world, but I needed to build something where I could see the impact on people's lives for the better every day.

Passionate about the ocean and outdoor pursuits like surfing, spearfishing, and boating (we even lived aboard a boat for over 2 years), San Diego became a cherished home where we lived and breathed the ocean every day. It's also where I met Cynthia while surfing. Over the years, we've grown together as adventure co-pilots, business partners, and best friends! Together, we've built a fulfilling family life with our two sons while pursuing businesses that reflect our love for ocean adventure, family unity, and personal growth.

As co-founder of Surf-fur alongside Cynthia, we're proud to have pioneered a new product category in the watersports industry, helping people to be safe and warm while doing the things that matter to them.  For almost 20 years, we've provided essential warmth and protection to people including the military and special forces. This journey has been a testament to our passion for watersports and serving those who serve our country.

My latest venture is Mortgages in Hawaii. Together with my business partner, Herbert (Herb) Lork, we've built a Big Island-based business focused on helping clients secure their futures. I find great satisfaction in fostering relationships and guiding individuals to understand what goes into a responsible and strong mortgage. Not only do we help our community find their dream homes, but we also give back 2% of our income to Big Island-based 401Cs dedicated to community support.

Beyond business, I'm dedicated to supporting causes I believe in, such as Reef Check for ocean conservation and Frontier Horizon for orphan welfare. Actively involved in local boards, I'm committed to making a positive impact in Hawaii and beyond.

I'm always open to new connections and opportunities to collaborate. Please reach out to schedule a meeting—I'm eager to explore how we can achieve success together.
