I am Zenon Issel, a Serial Entrepreneur originally from near Toronto, Canada. My journey began with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, propelling me to explore opportunities beyond Canadian borders. This pursuit led me to San Diego, California, where I embarked on a remarkable 20+ year career with Solar Turbines. During my tenure, I spearheaded numerous innovations and operational enhancements, culminating in a high-impact leadership role before transitioning to pursue my own entrepreneurial ventures.
Driven by a deep passion for the ocean, fishing, boating (living on a boat for over 2 years), San Diego became more than a professional base—it became a cherished home where I learned to surf, pursued my love for spearfishing, and met my wife Cindy, a fellow surfing enthusiast. Together, we have nurtured a thriving family life with our two wonderful boys, alongside building successful businesses that reflect our shared values of ocean conservation, family bonds, and personal growth.
As co-founder of Surf-fur alongside Cindy, I take pride that we pioneered a new product category within the watersports industry. Our journey from concept to thriving business has not only supported the passions of water enthusiasts but also provided critical warmth and protection to America's military and SPECOPs personnel—a legacy I deeply cherish.
Known for my ability to unite diverse teams, identify pivotal challenges, and deliver impactful solutions, I thrive on driving meaningful results. Most recently, in 2024, I forged a partnership to expand eMortgage Hawaii, a robust mortgage business based in Kona. I find immense fulfillment in building relationships and guiding individuals towards securing their financial futures through tailored financing options.
Beyond business, I am committed to supporting causes close to my heart, including Reef Check for ocean conservation and Frontier Horizon for orphan welfare. Having been active in local boards here in Hawaii, I am dedicated to making a positive impact in my community and beyond.
